What It's Like Not Owning A TV for Ten Years

I'm so unaccustomed to watching TV. I went without owning a television for about 10 years and now when I see busy news and show promos, loud fast-paced commercials with shaky camera shots edited by an editor that apparently has Attention Deficit Disorder, I'm kind-of insulted. I'm insulted by this way, this attempt of selling me things, as-if the producers assume that I can't focus on anything unless I'm yelled at. And, these type of sights and sounds are somewhat shocking, since I've maintained the pace of books and live music practice over the past ten years.
Television is obviously being made for people who've been desensitized to the point where you need the sound of explosions going-off often, and swooshing sounds to go along with colorful menu animations, shot switches every few seconds, constant panning to go along with anticipatory adrenaline-pumping cliffhanger content.
It's kind of sad. But, at the same time it's kind of hilarious.

Masters of All

The tragedy in people who become influential and start a podcast is that they think that their expertise transfers to a host of other topics. Jordan Peterson is definitely an expert when it comes to psychology, and he has some beneficial philosophies. However, him, like Joe Rogan (Although Joe Rogan repeatedly admits that he's 'just a comedian but with like a billion people listening to his podcast) who hosts guest that make dubious and sensational claims, Jordan thinks that he's got the lowdown on politics, and other fields of science. We've definitely reached a point in podcasting where it's at least the beginning of podcasters becoming the mainstream media. Judging by how many podcasters refer to the mainstream media, you'd think that FOX and CNN would have substantial influence, but when was the last time that you watched either of those? (Unless you're 53+ as their demographic has been older since I started counting in 2003.) People with Podcasts that

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day To all of you who break your back for your family Anguish, so real to you You shield it from your loved ones Like a duck, your feet flap furiously beneath the water Meanwhile above, your little ones only see a smooth ride Happy Father's Day to those of you who lost in court That sacrificed everything, who you are, the path that you were on Tolerating and enduring an awful relationship To make for your children, a more enjoyable life And all to often, only to come out the other end at a deficit In the eyes of the court, simply because you are a man Happy Father's Day to the fathers in history Whom either from ignorance or pride, went off to war to protect their family Especially to those who were drafted While others complained back home About anything that was back home They were taken, by force And were left no choice but to go up and over the trench Into an onslaught of gunfire, and at gunpoint behind If they came home, they came home from a place wh

Synchronicity & The Law of Attraction

" T he Secret teaches us that we create our lives, with every thought every minute of every day. Living The Secret offers tools and ideas to help you live The Secret and create the life of your dreams." - "As The Secret has swept the world and touched millions of lives, we have received so many stories of lives being transformed into joy." -The Secret W e shouldn't underestimate the power of synchronicity. "Synchronicity" is usually thought to be the opposite of "coincidence." Coincidental events seem to have no rhyme or reason. But, The Secret proposes that by consciously applying the Law of Attraction you can change every aspect of your life. Synchronizations seem to be perfectly orchestrated to arrive at exactly the time we need them, as if by divine order . Perhaps you can remember a few events or experiences that where too "trippy" to write off as mere coincidence. For example, instances where you were thinking of a certai
